What our customers say: I have ordered quite a lot from online gardening sites over the years and I have to say your plants look the best and healthiest I have ever received. Thanks so much for the fruit trees. As others have said, they are bigger than I'd anticipated, were of excellent quality, and very well packaged. What a great service you provide!

A GUIDE TO CHOOSING THE RIGHT SIZE. Fruit trees are grafted onto rootstocks. Rootstocks come in 5 sizes (2 for Cherries) see the chart below, all of our trees are labeled using these codes.

Until quite recently there was no point in trying to grow a sweet cherry in an average sized garden. The introduction of colt rootstock in the late 70's enables trees to be maintained at 4 metres.

If you require a smaller tree then look for the rootstock Giesla 5 which reaches around 3 metres when mature, Only the varieties Stella, Sunburst and Morello are available on this rootstock.

Plant trees or bushes in a sunny site with good air circulation and average to rich, well-drained soil. They prefer a soil ph of between 6.0 and 6.8 (slightly acidic).

Avoid low areas where frost and standing water can be a problem (especially for sweet types) or sites where cherries, peaches or plums have grown previously.
