Family Tree Concorde/Conference/Comice - 2 Year Bush 12 Litre

Conference - Dessert Pear-Remains the number 1 choice because of its reliability under less than favourable conditions. Fruits are long and narrow with juicy but firm flesh.  Pick late September. Stores well.  Doyenne du Comice - Dessert Pear-The Queen of Pears if you are looking for flavour. The texture and taste are truly outstanding. It does require a warm sheltered site. Pick mid October. Dessert Pear Concorde fruit trees - A new Pear from East Malling Research Station. Concorde is a perfect garden variety as the growth is quite compact. Concorde is also self fertile. Received the Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Concorde is a reliable and heavy cropper. Ideal for the small garden. Has Conference and Doyenne du Comice as parents. Very good flavour with melting juicy flesh. Picking time late October. Pollination group C.

Family Pear Growing Tips.

Three varieties grafted onto one tree makes this an ideal tree for pollination purposes and a selection of different varieties to extend the season. If you only have space for one tree in your garden then a family tree is the right choice. The varieties will cross pollinate each other to ensure maximum crops year after year. How to grow a Family pear tree in my garden - Our Care Guide for fruit trees will help you get the very best from your tree.

How to plant my multi grafted pear tree - Our How To Growing Tips section on our website has a video that will show you how.

What other pear varieties will cross pollinate a Family pear tree  - The 3 varieties grafted onto this tree will cross pollinate each other.

When is the best time to plant a multi grafted fruit tree - Container grown pear trees can be planted at any time of the year.

Planting distance for pear trees - All fruit trees are grafted onto a rootstock. It is the rootstock that determines how big the apple tree will grow into. There is a rootstock guide on the left hand side of all fruit tree product pages that explains this. As tall as the tree will grow into would be the planting distance. Example Quince A will grow to 3 metres when mature. So a spacing of between 3 metres would be required.

Can I grow a pear tree in a pot - All fruit trees will be happy growing in a large container. A pot around 50-60cm is ideal. There is more information on growing fruit trees in containers in our FAQ page.

How do I prune a multi grafted fruit tree - Our Care Guide explains the basic principles of fruit tree pruning.
