Dessert Pear Beurre Hardy fruit trees - A classic French pear from the early 19th century. Beurre Hardy has conical fruit with a distinctive excellent flavour. The leaves turn red in the autumn giving exceptional autumn colour. Pick Beurre Hardy fruit in late August whilst quite hard, then leave to ripen indoors. The connoisseur's pear. Pollination group B.

Dessert Pear Conference fruit trees. - Remains the number one choice because of its reliability under less than favourable conditions. Conference received the Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Conference fruits are long and narrow with juicy but firm flesh. Picking time late September. Self fertile though a pollinating partner will ensure a better crop. Pollination group B.

Dessert/Culinary Pear Improved Fertility fruit trees - Improved Fertility is an improved sport of Fertility found at Seabrooks Nursery. A hardy and heavy cropper. The medium sized fruits are very sweet and juicy for dessert, with an excellent, melting texture. Improved Fertility is a self fertile pear but a nearby pollination partner will ensure a better crop. Improved Fertility has good disease resistance. Picking time September. Pollination group C.

Dessert Pear Williams' Bon Chrétien fruit trees - As a garden tree this old English variety (First introduced 1770, Berkshire, UK) is a regular cropper and hardy enough for northern districts. Williams' Bon Chrétien received the Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Williams' Bon Chrétien is excellent straight from the tree in September but does not store. Will not pollinate Louise Bonne of Jersey. Pollination group C.

Malus toringo Aros Crab Apple - A stunning dwarf upright tree ideal for patio growing or small spaces. Leaves emerge a shiny dark burgundy to black turning slightly green with age. Bright purple/pink flowers in the spring turn to very dark red/maroon fruits in the autumn. Crab apple Aros received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.  Height and Spread (after 10 years): 2.5m x 1.5-2m Malus Aros Growing Tips: Crab Apples are self-fertile, and very useful as pollinators for a variety of fruit trees. Full sun or part shade lover, best grown in fertile, moist, deep, loamy soils. Requires minimal pruning in late winter or spring to remove damaged, diseased or misplaced growth.

John Downie Crab Apple - Perhaps the best fruiting crab apple. John Downie has beatiful white flowers in April followed by large bright orange to red fruits in the autumn. Malus John Downie have a very refreshing flavour that make them ideal for jams and jellies.

Dessert Plum Avalon fruit trees - Avalon was raised at Long Ashton Research Station near Bristol UK in 1985. Large round to oval shape and red in colour. Avalon is one of the finest quality dessert plums. Avalon crops well and the quality of the fruit is consistently good. An excellent garden Plum variety. Avalon is also a self fertile Plum. Picking time mid August.

Dessert Plum Excalibur fruit trees - A good, reddish-purple plum (raised in 1970) producing large, sweet fruit that's ready for picking in mid-August. The pale yellow flesh is sweet and juicy with a very good flavour that is claimed to be better than Victoria. When ripe the Excalibur Plum stone is free.

Dessert Plum Jubilee fruit trees - Jubilee is also known as Jubileum, it is best thought of as an improved Victoria plum. Fruit size is larger than Victoria and picks around 10 days earlier. Jubilee is also a self fertile Plum variety.

Dessert Plum Opal fruit trees for sale -  Opal is a superb early variety of Plum. The red fruits have a yellow flesh that parts from the stone with ease. Opal is sometimes thought of as a Gage like Plum due to it's excellent flavour. A very good reliable self fertile choice for any gardens in the UK. The fruits are a medium size. Picking time late July. Opal has a long ripening period 12-14 days so you do not get a glut of Plums all in one go. An excellent Plum to eat fresh, but it is also useful for jams and fruit crumbles. Plum Opal Received the Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.

Dessert/Culinary Plum Victoria fruit trees - Still the most popular plum with both amateur and commercial growers. Victoria Received the Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Flesh is yellowish to green. Victoria Plum is also self fertile, hardy, delicious and a reliable heavy cropper. Victoria was raised in Sussex around 1840 so has stood the test of time. 

Quince Meech's Prolific fruit trees - Carries good crops of large, highly scented golden fruit - they can be huge - up to 1/2 Kg each which are ready for picking in October. Quinces originally came from Iranian mountain slopes - which can get cold in winter so they are extremely hardy. Producing beautiful flowers in the spring. Meech's Prolific makes delicious jellies and pie fillings when combined with apples or jelly or marmalade when used on their own. Pick fruits in October. Meech's Prolific is a self fertile quince.

Autumn Raspberry All Gold  - The yellow raspberry that fruits in autumn. The flavour and sweetness are good, as are fruit size and yields. If you want an unusual raspberry that produces fruit in the Autumn that also tastes great then this is for you. The fruit is strongly coloured and the flavour is distinct, sweeter and superior to that of Autumn Bliss although the berries are not as firm. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit.

The bright fruits are produced on long strigs and the yields are very high. The fruits are delicious with a sweet-acid flavour. Redstart has a compact growth habit so makes this variety a good choice for small spaces. Redstart: Picking time mid August.
