10 Litre = Container grown and can be planted all year round. The size refers to the number of litres of compost that the container holds.
1 Year Maiden = A one year old tree and the size depends on the variety but in general they will be 125cm in height and will have some side branches.
2 Year Bush = A two year old tree that has been pruned back in the first winter to form a bush shape. Generally trees will be 150-175cm in height with multiple side branches.

Pollination Made Simple
Most suburban situations provide good pollen due to the close proximity of other gardens. It is not always necessary to have pollinators if the bees and other pollinating insects are generous with their visits. If you have no other Apple tree close by then select two varieties in the same group or the adjoining group ie group 2 and 4 will pollinate group 3 as will any others in group 3. Some varieties are self fertile.
Collection - If you would like to collect your trees then use this option. Note the collection is from the Wholesale Nursery office between Monday-Friday only. Please allow 1 working days for your order to be processed prior to collection date.
We are not a Garden Centre or retail Nursery. Orders can be placed via our website and the collection option can be selected at the checkout. Your order will then be ready for you to collect during our normal opening hours which are Monday-Friday 07.30-16.30. Our plants are grown in fields that can be 2 miles away from our office so it is not possible to just turn up and select your own trees.
Delivery Charges - The delivery charge is worked out from the weight and the size of the plant. We have several rates that apply to UK mainland addresses. A delivery charge of £8.50 is for all single tree orders. £10.00 if more than one tree. £15.00 charge for larger orders except in the case of the Espalier Fans and Step Over trained trees where this charge is a maximum of £40.00. Once you have put together your order the delivery charge will show before payment. All orders are despatched in one delivery.
To take advantage of a promotional code or gift voucher this must be entered into the redeem code box at the checkout. Discounts cannot be given once an order is completed and any codes have not been used.
Queen Cox Self Fertile
Apple Trees - Eating | Pollination group 3
Dessert Apple Queen Cox fruit trees - A self-fertile clone that needs no other variety for pollination. A more highly coloured clone of Cox's Orange Pippin that was discovered at Appleby Fruit Farm, Kingston Bagpuize, Berkshire and then received by the National Fruit Trials in 1953. Apple tree came early two days after ordering, which to be honest is amazing service. Although the tree was well packed, three of the branches were damaged (4star rather than 5), which I hope shouldn't affect the tree long term. With such good packaging it could only have been done during packing, particularly since the tree is quite wide spreading. Other than that a very health tree and look forward to many years of delicious fruit.

Two beautiful 2 year apple trees - ordered Friday, delivered Tuesday and planted Wednesday - together with a Nandina shrub in perfect condition. The packaging was excellent. I also recommend the Fruit Growers Guide, which is the most straightforward and easy to follow guide I've seen. Thanks very much Blackmoors for such excellent service.

Received mid 2014 as espalier. Followed all guidelines when planting and it looks like the tree is doing very well. I was able to make my third tier right away as well which was a bonus.

Thank you for the lovely apple trees, and the quick despatch of my two orders. I now have four bush apple trees from Blackmoor, they are absolutely perfect, good shape with strong firm branches in all directions, full of healthy leaves, plenty of roots but not at all potbound. Both despatches were very quick, the plants spent less than 24 hours in their boxes, and arrived on the stated day each time. They are so much better than the straggly trees one sometimes finds in garden centres, there is no comparison between them and the quality plants from yourselves, obviously grown with light and space and not crowded together. I have every confidence they will settle quickly in my garden and I will be heeding the advice to remove the fruitlets after flowering in the first year, except for one or two left on - I just have to see at least one fruit from each of these excellent trees next year. A very happy customer, and will be again if a space miraculously appears in my garden for another fruit tree! The after care booklet is also very welcome, and I was glad to hear about Tree-Aid charity for Africa as well, a wonderful idea.

Impressively tall and healthy 1 year old M26 arrive promptly in intelligent and great packaging. I had ordered duo buy so even saved more money. The tree was full of blossoms and I got a delicious apple :) despite losing blossoms as my tree container toppled over :( Looking fwd to years of lovely apples. Highly recommended.

Thank you for your delivery, I was impressed with the products and would like to mention in particular the careful and intelligent packing, which ensured that trees, shrubs, stakes and smaller plants arrived safely and in excellent condition. The bare rooted plants were carefully wrapped so did not dry out even though I was not able to plant immediately. Thank you !
