Montclare approximately 3 metres when mature.

St Julien A (SJA) 3.5 - 4 metres when mature. Although trees can be kept smaller if fan trained.

Bare Root = Field grown trees that have been freshly lifted and supplied with no soil around the roots. Only available during the dormant period November-April
10 Litre = Container grown and can be planted all year round. The size refers to the number of litres of compost that the container holds.
1 Year Maiden = A one year old tree and the size depends on the variety but in general they will be 125cm in height and may have some side branches.
2 Year Bush = A two year old tree that has been pruned back in the first winter to form a bush shape. Generally trees will be 140-160cm in height with multiple side branches. This height guide is an end of summer height.

Most suburban situations provide good pollen due to the close proximity of other gardens. It is not always necessary to have pollinators if the bees and other pollinating insects are generous with their visits. All Apricots are self fertile but may require hand pollinating.

Collection - If you would like to collect your trees then use this option. Note the collection is from the Wholesale Nursery office between Monday-Friday only. Please allow 1 working days for your order to be processed prior to collection date.

We are not a Garden Centre or retail Nursery. Orders can be placed via our website and the collection option can be selected at the checkout. Your order will then be ready for you to collect during our normal opening hours which are Monday-Friday 07.30-16.30. Our plants are grown in fields that can be 2 miles away from our office so it is not possible to just turn up and select your own trees.

A delivery charge of £9.95 is for all single tree orders. £11.40 if more than one tree. £15.00 charge for larger orders except in the case of the Espalier Fans and Step Over trained trees where this charge is between 40.00 - £57.00 depending on the delivery location. Once you have put together your order the delivery charge will show before payment. All orders are despatched in one delivery.

To take advantage of a promotional code or gift voucher this must be entered into the redeem code box at the checkout. Discounts cannot be given once an order is completed and any codes have not been used.

Apricot Flavourcot®

Apricot Fruit Trees | Genus Prunus armeniaca Flavourcot | Flavourcot Apricot Fruit Trees For Sale | Buy Online

Apricot Flavourcot fruit trees - This new Apricot has many advantages over Early Moorpark, Flavourcot comes into cropping earlier in the tree's life and produces heavier, excellent flavoured Apricots. Flavourcot is ideal for growing in a large pot. Flavourcot is a self fertile Apricot but like all other Apricots they do flower very early so hand pollinate the flowers with a soft brush to aid the pollination. Protection from frosts when in blossom is essential.

I received a beautiful lovely tree!

I bought the Flavourcot tree which arrived in perfect condition. It was very well wrapped and packed in a sturdy box. I can’t wait for when it bares fruit in a year or two. I would buy again from Blackmoor.

Lovely shaped tree. Arrived well packed. It looks great in its new situation on our South-facing wall. Am looking forward to the fruit.

We bought a flavourcot from blackmore in may 2013. We hand pollinate the flowers each spring and have had some very good crops, this last summer we had a tremendous crop of 60+ fruits and the flavour was better than anything in shops. No issue with any pests and the tree has tolerated being pruned by a couple amateurs very well.

First season after planting the tree produced some fruits of extraordinary colour and flavor.

I come back to Blackmoors time and time again because the fruit stock is second to none; the customer service is excellent; the packaging is sturdy; despatch is swift ie a few days rather than weeks. Again, this Flavourcot I have just received is one fine specimen. Thankyou so much everyone at Blackmoors. I love my tree!

I ordered several fruit trees which I received in Jersey yesterday lunchtime - just two days door-to-door. All well-packed and in excellent condition. Blackmoor certainly provides a service second to none.

Ordered the apricot for a gift. It arrived in good time, really well packaged and out of the box came a beautifully sized and shaped tree, bursting with life and new growth. Very happy, as was the gift recipient. So happy, I have ordered more plants since. Definitely recommended, both the apricot and Blackmoor.

Flavourcot Apricot Growing Tips.

Alongside the many similarities there are several important differences between Apricots and Peaches. Bacterial canker and silver leaf are not serious threats, so pruning is safe in late winter or early spring. The blossom is self fertile so a partner is not required, although the earliness of the flowering season means that hand pollination is recommended.

How to plant my apricot tree - Our How To Growing Tips section on our website has a video that will show you how.

What other apricot varieties will cross pollinate Flavourcot  - All Apricots are self fertile but they do flower very early and may require hand pollination. This is done by brushing from flower to flower with a soft brush.

When is the best time to plant a apricot fruit tree - Container grown trees can be planted at any time of the year. Bare Root apricot trees can only be planted between the months of November - April.

Planting distance for apricot trees - All fruit trees are grafted onto a rootstock. It is the rootstock that determines how big the apricot tree will grow into. There is a rootstock guide on the left hand side of all fruit tree product pages that explains this. As tall as the tree will grow into would be the planting distance. Example Montclare will grow to 3 metres when mature. So a spacing of between 3 metres would be required.

Can I grow a apricot tree in a pot - All fruit trees will be happy growing in a large container. A pot around 50-60cm is ideal. There is more information on growing fruit trees in containers in our FAQ page.

How do I prune a fruit tree - Our Care Guide explains the basic principles of fruit tree pruning.
